今回はイスタンブール観光2日目。
ホテルをチェックアウトした後、トラムでエミノニュへ向かい、ボスポラス海峡クルーズを楽しみます。
船上からドルマバフチェ・モスク、乙女の塔、ルメリ・ヒサル、ボスポラス海峡に架かる大橋など、ヨーロッパとアジアにまたがるイスタンブールならではの景色を満喫します。
クルーズ後は楽しみにしていたピデの店へ向かいますが、まさかの休業。前日に訪れたロカンタでランチをいただき、その後タクシム広場へ。MADOでトルコアイスを味わい、メトロでガラタ塔へ向かいます。
ところが、ガラタ塔もタクシム周辺も驚くほどの大混雑。
この日は朝から何となく違和感を感じていましたが、その理由にはまだ気付いていませんでした。
そして翌日、我々の旅行日程が「ある特別な時期」と重なっていたことが発覚します。

Today is our second full day exploring Istanbul.
After checking out of our hotel, we take the tram to Eminönü and set off on a cruise along the Bosphorus.
From the boat, we enjoy spectacular views of Istanbul, including Dolmabahçe Mosque, Maiden’s Tower, Rumeli Fortress, and the magnificent bridges connecting Europe and Asia.
After the cruise, we head to a pide restaurant we had been looking forward to visiting, only to find it unexpectedly closed. We return to the lokanta we visited the previous day for lunch, then continue to Taksim Square. After enjoying Turkish ice cream at MADO, we take the metro to Galata Tower.
But something feels strange today. Galata Tower and the Taksim area are incredibly crowded, and several things throughout the day just don’t seem quite right.
We don’t realize why until the following day, when we discover that our travel dates have unexpectedly coincided with a very special period in Türkiye.
